babysteps aims to help people like dan.
The Problem
Many parents struggle with the process of taking care of their newborns. the experience, whether familiar or not, has proven to be overwhelming across the board for parents.Our Problem Statement
Parents with newborns need to know what their baby's needs are and why, so they can have an easier time taking care of them and be able to just focus on enjoying their new family member.
Brainstorming
Our team conducted a brainstorming session in order to specify the exact problems newborn parents often face and potential successful solutions to such. through a collaborative effort, we were able to identify the specific problems our target audience was facing and the most urgent issues that needed to be addressed. this process was vital in fine-tuning our project scope and application features as well as finding solutions.

Competitive Analysis
In order to fine-tune our app's features, we conducted market research and an extensive competitor analysis to improve our gauge on key features. this comprehensive approach fostered a better understanding of user needs while allowing our team to hone in on key features that would allow us to stand out from our competitors and truly address struggles newborn parents face.
User Personas
In order to foster a better understanding of our target audience, our team created user personas that best reflected the qualities and characteristics of newborn parents. This process was essential for tailoring our application to the right audience and really understanding the needs and challenges of our users. Through user interviews, data collection, and research, our team crafted 3 user personas which carry information that are directly reflected in our design choices.

our entire design process was split into different sections - sketching, lo-fi wireframes, hi-fi wireframes, and prototyping. this lengthy but thorough process enabled our team to finalize our application prototype and to foster the most optimal workflow for us to achieve our design goals.
my role
as this application was done in a team of 5, each team member took on a specific role. as for me, my roles were as follows:- conducting research on a main competitor
- creating a literary review
- conducting user interviews
- designing a user persona
- assisting with the hi-fi wireframes
- contributing to the final prototype presentation
